Lisa Barnum

Success Story

Fifty-one-year-old Lisa Barnum recently was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), a neurological condition that can affect the brain and spinal cord, causing a wide range of potential symptoms, including problems with vision, arm or leg movement, sensation, or balance.

The diagnosis is the first time Lisa has ever had to deal with a significant health issue, and it’s been challenging for her and her family.

Lisa chose to receive therapy at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Northwest Ohio (RHNO) to help manage her symptoms. She feels that even though her condition is difficult, she was treated very well and that the staff led her to success.

“The staff is nurturing and understanding,” Lisa says. “I was well cared for during my time at RHNO.” At a recent appointment with her neurologist, her physician noted that he saw significant improvement in her mobility, and she attributes this to her therapy at RHNO.

“My hats off to everyone at RHNO,” she says. “They were all fantastic and amazing, I highly recommend them. If I had to give them a score on a 1-10 scale, I would give them a 20!”

Lisa says she looks forward to being “Mimi” to her grandchildren and doing fun activities with them again.
