Chris Combs

Success Story

Sixty-one-year old truck driver,  Chris Combs of Findlay, Ohio, suffered multiple trauma after a trucking accident. He came to Rehabilitation Hospital of Northwest Ohio with two broken arms, two broken shoulders, broken ribs, broken neck vertebrae, and a traumatic brain injury.

A self-proclaimed “impatient” patient, Chris says he received fantastic care during his two weeks at the hospital. He notes that many of the staff were wonderful, including his therapists, Zach, Amanda, and Abby; and his patient care technician, Cathy. “I was a pain, I’m sure,” Chris laughs. “But all of the staff were great. They put up with me when I wouldn’t stay put.”

Chris says he’s grateful for not only the treatment he received, but for the food as well. “I was late for dinner one time,” he says. “Ben went out of his way to let me in, make me food, and talk to me. I appreciated that.”

Since being discharged from the hospital, Chris has been attending the senior center and working out at its gym. He still has some follow-up appointments before he can return to work, but he’s driving again and feeling well. He enjoys coming back to the hospital to say hello to the staff!
